Steele Percussion
The Steele High School Percussion program is a vital and dynamic part of the Steele Band. It is made up of two distinct yet equally impressive groups: the Battery/Drumline and the Front Ensemble. The Battery, often referred to as the Drumline, brings energy and rhythm with their powerful beats, while the Front Ensemble—comprised of marimbas, vibraphones, cymbals, and other percussion instruments—adds a rich and melodic layer to the sound.
During the fall semester, Steele Percussion performs alongside the Steele Marching Band, providing the foundation and intensity that drive the band's performances. The percussionists' precision and skill are key to creating the high-energy atmosphere of each show, adding a visual and auditory impact that elevates the entire marching ensemble.
In addition to their work with the Marching Band, Steele Percussion also competes in individual percussion competitions, where they showcase their technical prowess and creative artistry. These competitions allow the percussionists to demonstrate their exceptional musicality and teamwork as they perform intricate, challenging compositions.
Steele Percussion is more than just a section of the band; they are a powerhouse of rhythm, sound, and innovation. Whether performing on the field, in competition, or at various school events, Steele Percussion continues to captivate audiences with their passion and talent.
